Hiraeth Psychotherapy
Telehealth WA/OR

The guiding values of my practice are authenticity, intention, and connection and I am likely a good fit for you if you are seeking more of this in your life. The word Hiraeth has its origins in the Welsh language and is believed to translate as a longing for one’s literal and figurative homeland. I believe that many of the people I have worked with, in the last 15 years, seek therapy in this search for something that is missing. I will provide you support in the exploration of your “homeland” and to increase connection.

I’m passionate about working with the peaks and valleys in young adulthood and adulthood. My general areas of practice are with difficulties managing mood and regulating emotions, anxiety that is secondary to depression, trauma histories, and navigating stress and life changes. In addition, I have a passion for providing long term sober/recovery support.

If you are interested in a specific type of treatment, please note that I will often draw from a variety of areas and I don’t believe one model fits everything and all people. In my practice, I am informed by and will most often utilize components of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Level 1, ACT, and Mindfulness. I am starting a year long training in February 2021, “Interpersonal Neurobiology for Practitioners of Color.”
