I offer spiritual direction services. I have been employed in a variety of settings in the Columbia Gorge since 1994. My work with individuals, couples, and families has given me the opportunity to teach clients about effective relationships with themselves and others. I specialize in the areas of spiritual transformation, life transition, career development, grief, and recovery.
Spiritual direction is not counseling. It is a form of coaching with a spiritual twist. Clients may come with questions about their life, sometimes in need of a new perspective. Spiritual direction involves transformation of self through deep listening and insight into the person’s experiences. Clients practice looking inward and connect with what they define as spiritual or divine. Spiritual direction is an ancient practice that has roots in most major religions, including Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Pagan, Indigenous + and is woven together by a format of listening, asking questions, teaching, ritual, and examination of client values and philosophy, all for the sake of finding life meaning and purpose. Spiritual direction can be a space for opening up in order to find healing and self-acceptance. Clients may discover a greater sense of clarity, an increased awareness, and a richer understanding of where they are going on life’s journey. Spiritual direction is not reimbursed by insurance. I do not charge a set fee—I negotiate fees with clients prior to the initial session. I am available both in person and by videoconference.
