If you’ve spent years putting others first, trying not to be a burden, and figuring everything out on your own, you might find the effort it takes just to get through a normal day is becoming unsustainable. Over time, many clients notice that the strategies that once helped them cope (staying in control, anticipating problems, pushing through discomfort) begin to have a paradoxical effect. The more we try to hold it all together, the more chaotic it feels. What once created a feeling of safety now leaves us feeling trapped.
These patterns are not the full story of who you are. They’re just the things you’ve learned to do to survive all that you’ve endured. A wonderful thing about humans is our endless ability to learn, grow and change, especially in the context of a supportive relationship.
I specialize in helping adults heal from trauma, manage anxiety, and break free from cycles of perfectionism, self-criticism, and chronic stress. I am particularly drawn to working with women, LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, and healthcare professionals navigating burnout, identity stress, compassion fatigue, and the long-term impact of always having to be “on.”
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I understand how important it is to have a space where you don’t need to translate your experience, justify your reactions, or perform stability in order to be met with care. My approach is trauma-informed, affirming, and collaborative, drawing primarily from EMDR and ACT. I bring warmth and humor into the therapy space; though we are often working through difficult content, it won’t always feel dark and heavy.
Therapy is about so much more than simply reducing symptoms and suffering. It’s about helping you reclaim your life. As the grip of the past loosens, you can more fully embrace your present with deeper connections, greater vitality, a stronger sense of self, and the freedom to pursue what truly matters to you. Your one human life is waiting for you. I would love to help you find it.
